The cover feature, “Bee-ing in the Moment,” visits local beekeepers whose reasons vary — some are in it to make honey, some to increase pollinators, others simply to relax and enjoy the challenge of a changing ecosystem — but who all agree it is, above everything, about the bees. The piece opens onto the wider attention honeybees have drawn in recent years.
Civic life features prominently. The Montgomery County Republican Women's Club hosted Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti, sworn in to an eight-year term on September 1st, as guest speaker at its monthly Tanglewood House luncheon. And more than a hundred guests joined Mayor Joe Pitts and First Lady Cindy Pitts at Clarksville's annual Farm to Table Dinner, held this year at Michael and Regina Hampton's Iron and Elder Farm, where Downtown Market vendors bring the season's food to the table.
The 117th Lone Oak Picnic lit up Cunningham on Saturday, July 26th with its blend of tradition, music, food and fun; hosted by the Central Civitan Club, the beloved event drew hundreds of families and neighbors for one of Montgomery County's most enduring gatherings. A profile of Daphne's Portrait Design rounds out the local-business coverage.
The issue carries the full breadth of early autumn in Clarksville — the events, the profiles, and the food, history and photo spreads that anchor each month — moving from a backyard beehive to the state's top law officer to a 117-year-old community picnic.
