Clarksville, TN – The Nashville Symphony returned to Downtown Commons as part of its annual summer community concert series, a popular family-friendly, free event that has become a much-anticipated tradition in recent years.
Cara Zahn, Event Planning Supervisor for Montgomery County Parks & Recreation, said, “I believe this is our fifth time hosting the Nashville Symphony. We’re really grateful that the weather held out for us today, and we are so thankful for our partnership with Benefits, Inc., and Jack Turner and Associates, who make if possible for us to bring them to Clarksville.
This year’s Nashville Symphony performance included music from Aaron Copland, Hector Berlioz, and more.
“I think this is one of the year’s crowd-favorites. This event brings a totally different vibe to Downtown Commons. Tomorrow night we have Downtown at Sundown with an 80’s tribute band. So, It’s great for us to be able to offer such a variety of entertainment to the community.”
Downtown Commons is also hosting movie nights this year, something they do at parks all across Montgomery County. “We wanted to include Downtown Commons,” Zahn said. “We also hosted one at Richellen Park that drew about 200 people, and then we had Lilo & Stitch here with almost 1,000 in attendance.”
MoCo P&R will also present movie nights at Rotary Park, Civitan Park, Woodlawn Park, and Stokes Park
