January opened the new year with a look back at “Mary Poppins” and Julie Andrews, alongside features touching from Sloan Kettering to classic film.
February honored the Wendell H. Gilbert Award with Don Jenkins, celebrated poet Stellasue Lee, and profiled Wynne Ford.
March covered downtown improvements from City Hall parking to home window trends with Graber blinds, and profiled Alie Laumb.
April filled the Public Square with Arts Galore — Festival Friday and the Strawberry Alley Stage — and looked at design history from the Barcelona chair.
May scooped up Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, visited Sango Pharmacy, and profiled Catherine Meeks.
June lit up the Mayor’s Summer Night Lights with Mayor Kim McMillan and Belle City Amusements, and exhibited the Harmon and Harriet Kelley Collection of African American Art.
July beat the dog days at Dunbar Cave State Park with “Swan Lake,” and explained the Uniformed Services Former Spouses’ Protection Act.
August covered comprehensive local health care and explained the military’s Blended Retirement System and Roth TSP.
September walked with the community at Liberty Park, hosted Family Story Time, and profiled Leigha Davis.
October promoted fire prevention with “Every Second Counts,” revisited the historic Franklin House Hotel, and cooked at the Macro Kitchen.
November returned to Dunbar Cave State Park with ranger lore from “Mr. Dunbar,” and profiled Kenny Vaughn and Charlie Runyon.
December celebrated the Buddy Ball special-needs athletic league, lit up Christmas displays, and rode along with the Bikers Who Care Memorial Toy Run.
