January welcomed the new year with fresh resolutions, a visit to La Michoacana Delicias at Two Rivers Mall, and profiles of pharmacist Shevlin Meeks and Megan Geckler.
February looked back at the Kodak Brownie camera and its inventor Frank Brownell, danced at the Blue Jean Ball, and visited Patti Yates on College Street.
March staged “Annie” at the Roxy Theatre with Daddy Warbucks, expanded the children’s library, and offered Basic Computer and Facebook skills classes.
April tried goat yoga at Caprine Fitness, covered the National School Walkout, and spotlighted local film with “Bastard Out of Carolina.”
May opened the doors of Warehouse Forty One, championed Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library with Dolly Hendricks, and honored Mother’s Day.
June rocked the Fort Campbell MWR Division Parade Field with the Scooter Brown Band and opened the five-day Montgomery County Fair.
July profiled Dan Williams and Bert Scott, recognized Tennova’s total hip and knee replacement certification, and celebrated music from Bob Dylan to Holly Williams.
August toasted Old Glory Distilling Company, gave back to the community, and turned up the music from Ben E. King to Victoria York.
September profiled Willie Bailey, visited a new experiential tea lounge, and stitched together a feature on Absolutely Fun Sewing.
October got crafty for Halloween with pumpkin vases and mason-jar projects, and profiled Maria Shircel and Maynard Mathe.
November served Thanksgiving sides, honored veterans with Mission BBQ’s American Heroes Cup and the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association, and covered the City Council.
December opened the historic Trahern Mansion, remembered Pearl Harbor, and closed the year with holiday cheer and a visit to Sango Pharmacy.
