In 2020, Clarksville Living Magazine documented a community meeting an extraordinary year with resilience — twelve issues covering the people, businesses, arts, and events of Clarksville, Tennessee, even as the world changed. January rang in the new year at Downtown Commons with a Worship Night and a playful look at Buzz Lightyear and Sheriff Woody, courtesy of Joel Wallace.
February marked National Pet Dental Health Month and opened exhibitions at the Crouch Gallery, including the Lucy Dunwody Boehm porcelain collection and a traveling African American art exhibition.
March observed Earth Hour and Women’s History Month, and invited families to Little Explorers and Color Me Creative at Explorers’ Landing.
April met the early days of the pandemic at home, with ideas for entertaining your pets and keeping the community connected.
May explored Austin Peay State University’s Geographic Information Systems program with GIS director Mike Wilson, and visited Chapel Hill Christian Academy.
June reopened carefully with a socially distant summer, raising a glass at Travis Powell’s new Trazo Meadery tasting room.
July found calm in Full Moon Yoga and sunrise sessions at Downtown Commons, gamed at Valhalla’s Gate, and supported Urban Ministries through the pandemic.
August profiled “songwriter to the stars” Curt Ryle, and looked ahead to the season for local schools and NCAA athletics.
September highlighted Clarksville Youth Enrichment programs, community helping hands, and a visit to Gladiator Brewing Co. on Madison Street.
October ran with local athletes from the Boston Marathon to Oak Grove Racing, and profiled Josh Vaughn near Fort Campbell.
November gave thanks and shared seasonal tips for caring for pets as the weather turned.
December closed the year with the Montgomery County lights show and Graceful Designs Photography’s tips for great holiday photos of your dog or cat.
