The cover feature follows artist D.C. Thomas, who was asked to turn the Customs House Museum into a Christmas ornament and blended her love of history and whimsy to do it. Inspired by the museum's architecture and a wintry blue-and-silver theme, she envisioned the building encased in a snow globe — a piece she calls “a nod to the past and a celebration of the present.” Visitor Services Manager Laura Cagaoan explains the museum sells Thomas's work in its store and thought her a perfect fit, and Executive Director Frank Lott praises how she transformed the building into an ice palace, offering the fascinating, fresh perspective her work always brings.

The profile roots Thomas's art in her Romanian heritage and a creative family lineage: parents who were both artists, a father's caricatures and a mother's tempera paintings that gave her an early education in the transformative power of art, and a mother's “magical red diary” that recurs in her memory.

Beyond the cover, the issue carries the community's February calendar — the winter events, fundraisers and gatherings that fill the shortest month — along with the business profiles, local history and photo coverage that anchor each issue. Valentine's season threads through the food and lifestyle pages.

As always, the magazine balances a single deep profile with the broader civic and social life of Clarksville, giving a local artist the same careful attention it gives the city's institutions and events.
