The cover feature by Karen Parr-Moody captures a moment of civic history: Clarksville-area students standing in a historic spotlight through the National School Walkout, the student-led demonstration that put young people at the center of a national conversation. Local students claiming a national spotlight, a hometown actor chasing Hollywood, and a warm defense of the manners that still define the region all share the same pages — substance and sweetness side by side. It is the magazine doing what it does best: taking the measure of a community through the individuals within it, whether they are marching for a cause, performing on a distant stage, or simply holding a door for a stranger the way their grandparents taught them. The Hollywood feature follows APSU graduate Jerry Winsett, who once imagined award ceremonies and a life in the theater, now back on a local stage in the role of Geoffrey, a dentist — a full-circle story of a hometown talent who chased the dream and came home to keep telling it.
