Clarksville, TN – The Oddities and Curiosities Market recently returned to Clarksville for its third year, giving local artists and small businesses a chance to share their work with the community.
Held at Wilma Rudolph Event Center, the venue stayed packed throughout the day as visitors stopped to browse booths featuring everything from handmade artwork and taxidermy to other unique creations.
According to one of the event organizers, Matty of The Ghoul House, the event was created “for the weirdos and misfits” because there weren’t many markets that catered to people with those interests. Matty said the market has helped build a community that enjoys art and creativity beyond the ordinary.
One thing that makes this market different is the careful vendor selection process. “I hand-pick my vendors,” Matty said. That attention to detail helps create an experience where each booth feels like stepping into a new world, giving visitors the chance to discover something new as they make their way through the market.
The market also encourages originality. This year, organizers introduced a no-AI policy for vendors. “You can get AI work anywhere … but that’s not the point of this market,” Matty said, explaining, “The goal of the market is to celebrate artists and give shoppers the opportunity to support work created by real, talented people.”
In its third year, the market continues to grow, drawing attendees from across the state. Even with that growth, the event remains focused on giving artists a space to show off their creativity, originality, and uniqueness.
